All our courses can be delivered virtually, thereby removing the need to travel to a training venue or a law firm’s offices to receive the training. Our library of video tutorials can be accessed by participants at any time, as often as they need. All mock cross-examination exercises are based on the real-life experiences of the witness or short witness statements and bear no similarity to the facts or issues in the upcoming hearing.

After undertaking the Witness Familiarisation course, participants will be in a position to decide if they need follow-on training. This will give them further confidence and skills to navigate the process of giving evidence in court or in any other legal forum.

Witness Familiarisation

We offer a complete Witness Familiarisation programme that is tailored to the needs of each individual witness. Our courses give participants the fundamental knowledge of procedures at the hearing and instil them with the skills required of witnesses giving evidence in court, at an arbitration, inquiry, or tribunal.

Access to a library of video tutorials is included with this course for participants to view as often as necessary before a hearing. This supplementary material provides a flexible and convenient approach to participants as they can view it in their own time, as required, on any device.

The course is ideal both for witnesses attending a hearing in person and for witnesses who are due to give evidence remotely through live video links.  It is suitable for witnesses of fact, expert witnesses and professional witnesses and is tailored accordingly.

Witness Familiarisation

Intensive Cross-Examination

Our Intensive Cross-Examination course is for witnesses who have previously undertaken the Witness Familiarisation training.

This follow-on course is ideal for those witnesses requiring further training, focussing primarily on cross-examination.  Participants will experience several rounds of in-depth mock cross-examination, facing a variety of questioning techniques from an experienced advocate.  They will receive detailed, candid and constructive feedback on their performance in the witness box after each round of cross-examination.  The repeated practice and feedback will help to improve their communication skills and build their confidence.

The Intensive Cross-Examination course can also be tailored for those witnesses who wish to practice giving evidence-in-chief, in addition to being cross-examined.

Intensive Cross-Examination training is delivered on a 1 to 1 basis, thus giving the participant a comprehensive and realistic opportunity to develop their skills before giving evidence in court or in any other legal forum.

Witness Communication Skills

Witness Communication Skills is our ultimate course in witness preparation, combining the content of our Witness Familiarisation training with specific input on improving communication skills to enable witnesses to give evidence with confidence, clarity and authority.

This course is ideal for witnesses who are particularly nervous or poor communicators and also for those who are likely to be in the witness box for a significant length of time.

The Witness Communication Skills course is designed to provide witnesses with the necessary tools to confidently give evidence and respond to questions in cross-examination. Witnesses will gain a full understanding of their personal communication, allowing them to have better management of their reactions and responses in a high-emotion, high-stress courtroom environment.
